Symphony Housing (formerly Liverpool Housing Trust) has appointed Advantage as its structural warranty provider at a large scale social housing development in Wirral, Merseyside.
Set on the site of a former Wirral pub, the One O Clock gun, work has begun to redevelop the land as part of a multi-million affordable housing scheme. The scheme comprises five two-bedroom houses, two two-bedroom flats and two one-bedroom flats on Bidston Drive.
The social housing provider has opted for a standard warranty through Advantage which was secured prior to works beginning.
Barry Bowers of Advantage commented:
“The housing association market is a huge growth area for us. Traditionally, social landlords have been led to believe that only NHBC or Premier guarantees can be used, however, this is a complete misconception.
“Our warranties are backed by Elite insurance and we are approved suppliers of almost all high street lenders.
“We understand the challenges faced by housing associations at development schemes and are keen to work with our customers throughout the lifecycle of a project. Budget constraints are often a separate challenge and with our lower rates and high standards of service, we are seeing lots more interest from customers within this sector.”
