Following a particularly busy month at the Advantage offices, we’re getting ready to put down our phones and pick up our golf clubs as we prepare for our annual charity golf day on Thursday (5th September).
Over the past year, we’ve been raising funds for Alder Hey and The Whitechapel Centre (the leading homelessness and housing charity for the Liverpool region). This year, Advantage’s Directors will be raising money for additional medical support for Lee Kavanagh, who suffered a cerebral haemorrhage at age 49. Lee, who has a wife and two children, was in a coma for several months and is receiving physiotherapy twice a week. However, with more funding for more regular physio sessions, it’s believed that Lee will make a more rapid recovery.
David Sumner, Director of Sales at Advantage, said:
“We normally support local charities like Alder Hey Children’s Hospital. But this year we’re looking to raise as much as possible to help Lee on his way to recovery.”
The money raised at Advantage’s annual charity golf day will go directly to funding Lee’s physio to aid his recovery.
Following the success of last year’s Alder Hey Golf Day, which we hosted at the Marriott Hotel in Worsley, Greater Manchester, the Advantage team and our guests from a range of property-related fields (including solicitors, architects and developers) will be returning to the same venue for this year’s Charity Golf day on Thursday.
Although in the five years since Advantage Insurance was founded, we’ve experienced rapid growth (meaning that we now have a growing team and offices in Horsham and Birmingham, as well as our Warrington HQ) it’s an important part of Advantage’s company culture to support local charities which are close to the team’s heart even at times of rapid expansion. And if that means playing a few rounds of golf for charity once a year, so be it!
David Sumner commented:
“We’re looking forward to hosting a great day, and we hope everyone digs deep in aid of a fantastic cause.”
After the event, we’ll be posting a few of our favourite pictures from the day and letting you know how much we raised on this page. In the meantime, we’d like to thank everyone who’s supported this year or last year’s charity golf day. It’s enormously appreciated!
